Jump-startingafrozenbatteryoronewithalowfluidlevelisdangerous.Itmay
ruptureorexplode,causingseriousinjury.
Don'tjump-startafrozenbatteryoronewithalowfluidlevel.
ConnectingtoNegativeTerminal:
Connectingtheendofthesecondcabletothenegative(      )terminalofthedischarged
batteryisdangerous.
Asparkcouldcausethegasaroundthebatterytoexplodeandinjuresomeone.
Connectthecabletoapointawayfromthebattery.
ConnectingJumperCabletoMovingParts:
Connectingajumpercablenearortomovingparts(coolingfans,belts)isdangerous.
Thecablecouldgetcaughtwhentheenginestartsandcauseseriousinjury.Never
connectajumpercabletoornearanypartthatmoves.
CAUTION
Useonlya12Vboostersystem.Youcandamagea12Vstarter,ignitionsystem,and
otherelectricalpartsbeyondrepairwitha24Vpowersupply(two12Vbatteriesin
seriesora24Vmotorgeneratorset).

andthatitsnegativeterminalis
grounded.
Connectoneendoftheothercable
tothenegativeterminalofthe
boosterbattery(3).

Iftheboosterbatteryisinanother
vehicle,don'tallowthevehiclesto
touch.Turnofftheengineofthe
vehiclewiththeboosterbatteryandall
unnecessaryelectricalloadsinboth
vehicles.

sequenceasintheillustration.
Connectoneendofacabletothe

positiveterminalonthedischarged
battery(1).
Attachtheotherendtothepositive

terminalontheboosterbattery(2).
