Whenthediscbrakepadsbecomeworn,
thebuilt-inwearindicatorscontactthe
discplates.Thiscausesascreechingnoise
towarnthatthepadsshouldbereplaced.
Neutral position
Theshiftpatternofthetransaxleis
conventional,asshown.
Presstheclutchpedalallthewaydown
whileshifting;thenreleaseitslowly.
Asafetyfeaturepreventsaccidental
shiftingfrom5toR(reverse).Theshift
levermustbeputinneutralbeforebeing
shiftedtoR.
Whenyouhearthisnoise,consultan
AuthorizedMazdaDealerassoonas
possible.

SuddenEngine-Braking:

Shiftingdownwhiledrivingonwet,
snowy,orfrozenroads,orwhile
drivingathighspeedscausessudden
enginebraking,whichisdangerous.
Thesuddenchangeintirespeedcould
causethetirestoskid.Thiscouldlead
tolossofvehiclecontrolandan
accident.Donotusesuddenengine
brakingonslipperyroadsurfacesorat
highspeeds.
