YourMazdaisequippedwithLATCHloweranchorsforattachmentofspeciallydesigned
LATCHchild-restraintsystemsintherearseat.Bothanchorsmustbeused,otherwisethe
seatwillbouncearoundandputthechildindanger.SomeLATCHchild-restraintsystems
mustalsobeusedinconjunctionwithatethertobeeffective.Iftheyhaveatetheryou
mustuseittobetterassureyourchild'ssafety.
WARNING
Manufacturer'sInstructionsforChild-RestraintSystem:
Anunsecuredchild-restraintsystemisdangerous.Inasuddenstoporacollisionit
couldmovecausingseriousinjuryordeathtothechildorotheroccupants.Makesure
thechild-restraintsystemisproperlysecuredinplaceaccordingtothechild-restraint
systemmanufacturer'sinstructions.
AttachingTwoChild-RestraintSystemstotheSameLATCHLowerAnchor:
Attachingtwochild-restraintsystemstothesameLATCHloweranchorisdangerous.
Inacollision,oneanchormaynotbestrongenoughtoholdtwochild-restraintsystem
attachmentsandmaybreak,causingseriousinjuryordeath.Ifyouusetheseat
positionforanotherchild-restraintsystemwhenanoutboardLATCHpositionis
occupied,usethecenterseatbeltsinstead,andthetetheriftether-equipped.
UnsecuredChild-RestraintSystem:
Anunsecuredchild-restraintsystemisdangerous.Inasuddenstoporacollisionit
couldmovecausingseriousinjuryordeathtothechildorotheroccupants.Followthe
child-restraintsystemmanufacturer'sinstructionsonbeltroutingtosecuretheseat
justasyouwouldwithachildinitsothatnobodyistemptedtoputachildinan
improperlysecuredseatlateron.Whennotinuse,removeitfromthevehicleorfasten
itwithaseatbelt,orlatchitdowntoBOTHLATCHloweranchorsforLATCHchild-
restraintsystems.
LATCHChild-RestraintSystems:
Notfollowingthechild-restraintsystemmanufacturer'sinstructionswheninstalling
thechild-restraintsystemisdangerous.Ifseatbeltsoraforeignobjectpreventthe
child-restraintsystemfrombeingsecurelyattachedtotheLATCHloweranchorsand
thechild-restraintsystemisinstalledimproperly,thechild-restraintsystemcouldmove
inasuddenstoporcollisioncausingseriousinjuryordeathtothechildorother
occupants.Wheninstallingthechild-restraintsystem,makesuretherearenoseat
beltsorforeignobjectsnearoraroundtheLATCHloweranchors.Alwaysfollowthe
child-restraintsystemmanufacturer'sinstructions.
