WARNING:Ifafailurehasbeendetectedwithinthe
AdvanceTrac௡system,thestabilitycontrollightwillilluminate
steadily,andyoumayhearachime.Ifequippedwithamessagecenter,
thevehiclewillalsoindicateafailurewiththebrakesystem.Havethe
systemservicedbyanauthorizeddealerimmediately.
TheAdvanceTrac௡systemautomaticallyenableseachtimetheengineis
started.AllfeaturesoftheAdvanceTrac௡system(TCSandESC)are
activeandmonitorthevehiclefromstart-up.However,thesystemwill
onlyinterveneifthedrivingsituationrequiresit.
TheAdvanceTrac௡systemincludes
astabilitycontrolswitchonthe
instrumentpanel,astabilitycontrol
lightandastabilitycontrolofflight
intheinstrumentcluster.Boththe
stabilitycontrollightandthe
stabilitycontrolofflightintheinstrumentclusterwillilluminate
temporarilyduringstart-upaspartofanormalsystemself-check.The
stabilitycontrollightmayilluminate(flash)duringcertaindriving
situationswhichcausetheAdvanceTrac௡systemtooperate.Ifthe
stabilitycontrollightilluminatessteadily,havethesystemservicedbyan
authorizeddealerimmediately.Ifequippedwithamessagecenter,the
vehiclewillalsoindicateafailurewiththeAdvanceTrac௡system.
WhenAdvanceTrac௡performsanormalsystemself-check,somedrivers
maynoticeaslightmovementofthebrake,and/orarumble,grunting,or
grindingnoiseafterstartupandwhendrivingoff.
WhenaneventoccursthatactivatesAdvanceTrac௡youmayexperience
thefollowing:

Aslightdecelerationofthevehicle
Thestabilitycontrollightwillflash.
Ifyourfootisonthebrakepedal,avibrationinthepedal
Ifthedrivingconditionissevereandyourfootisnotonthebrake,the
brakepedalmaymoveasthesystemsapplieshigherbrakeforces.You
mayalsohearawhooshofairfromundertheinstrumentpanelduring
thisseverecondition.

Thebrakepedalmayfeelstifferthanusual.
Tractioncontrolsystem(TCS)
Tractioncontrolisadriveraidfeaturethathelpsyourvehiclemaintain
tractionofthewheels,typicallywhendrivingonslipperyand/orhilly
roadsurfaces,bydetectingandcontrollingwheelspin.
