Ifyourvehicleisflexfuelcapable,itisdesignedtouseFuelEthanol
(Ed75–Ed85),“Regular”unleadedgasolineoranymixtureofthetwo
fuels.
UseofotherfuelssuchasFuelMethanolmaycausepowertrain
damage,alossofvehicleperformance,andyourwarrantymaybe
invalidated.
ItisbestnottoalternaterepeatedlybetweengasolineandE85.Ifyoudo
switchfuels,itisrecommendedthatyouaddasmuchfuelas
possible—atleasthalfatank.Donotaddlessthanfivegallons(18.9L)
whenrefueling.Youshoulddrivethevehicleimmediatelyafterrefueling
foratleast5miles(8km)toallowthevehicletoadapttothechangein
ethanolconcentration.
IfyouexclusivelyuseE85fuel,itisrecommendedtofillthefueltank
withregularunleadedgasolineateachscheduledoilchange.
Fuel quality
Ifyouareexperiencingstarting,roughidleorhesitationdriveability
problemsduringacoldstart,tryadifferentbrandof“Regular”unleaded
gasoline.Premiumunleadedgasolineisnotrecommendedforvehicles
designedtouse“Regular”unleadedgasolinebecauseitmaycausethese
problemstobecomemorepronounced.Iftheproblemspersist,seeyour
authorizeddealer.
Donotaddaftermarketfueladditiveproductstoyourfueltank.It
shouldnotbenecessarytoaddanyaftermarketproductstoyourfuel
tankifyoucontinuetousehighqualityfueloftherecommendedoctane
rating.Theseproductshavenotbeenapprovedforyourengineand
couldcausedamagetothefuelsystem.Repairstocorrecttheeffectsof
usinganaftermarketproductinyourfuelmaynotbecoveredbyyour
warranty.
Manyoftheworld’sautomakersapprovedtheWorld-WideFuelCharter
thatrecommendsgasolinespecificationstoprovideimproved
performanceandemissioncontrolsystemprotectionforyourvehicle.
GasolinesthatmeettheWorld-WideFuelChartershouldbeusedwhen
available.Askyourfuelsupplieraboutgasolinesthatmeetthe
World-WideFuelCharter.
