specialwasherfluidsuchaswindshieldwaterrepellenttypefluidorbug
wash.Theymaycausesqueaking,chatternoise,streakingandsmearing.
RefertoRefillcapacitiesinthischapter.
Stateorlocalregulationsonvolatileorganiccompoundsmayrestrictthe
useofmethanol,acommonwindshieldwasherantifreezeadditive.
Washerfluidscontainingnon-methanolantifreezeagentsshouldbeused
onlyiftheyprovidecoldweatherprotectionwithoutdamagingthe
vehicle’spaintfinish,wiperbladesorwashersystem.
WARNING:Ifyouoperateyourvehicleintemperaturesbelow
40°F
(5°C),usewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotection.Failure
tousewasherfluidwithantifreezeprotectionincoldweathercould
resultinimpairedwindshieldvisionandincreasetheriskofinjuryor
accident.
Note:Donotputwasherfluidintheenginecoolantreservoir.Washer
fluidplacedinthecoolingsystemmayharmengineandcoolingsystem
components.
WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES
Ifthewiperbladesdonotwipeproperly,cleanboththewindshieldand
wiperbladesusingundilutedwindshieldwipersolutionoramild
detergent.Rinsethoroughlywithcleanwater.Toavoiddamagingthe
blades,donotusefuel,kerosene,paintthinnerorothersolvents.
