Servicedatarecordersinyourvehiclearecapableofcollectingand
storingdiagnosticinformationaboutyourvehicle.Thispotentially
includesinformationabouttheperformanceorstatusofvarioussystems
andmodulesinthevehicle,suchasengine,throttle,steeringorbrake
systems.Inordertoproperlydiagnoseandserviceyourvehicle,Mazda
NorthAmericanOperations,MazdaCanada,andserviceandrepair
facilitiesmayaccessvehiclediagnosticinformationthroughadirect
connectiontoyourvehiclewhendiagnosingorservicingyourvehicle.
Event Data Recording
Othermodulesinyourvehicle—eventdatarecorders—arecapableof
collectingandstoringdataduringacrashornearcrashevent.The
recordedinformationmayassistintheinvestigationofsuchanevent.
Themodulesmayrecordinformationaboutboththevehicleandthe
occupants,potentiallyincludinginformationsuchas:

whetherornotthedriverandpassengerseatbeltswerebuckled;
