Changing the wiper blades

Pullthewiperarmawayfrom
thevehicle.Turnthebladeatan
anglefromthewiperarm.Push
thelocktabtoreleasetheblade
andpullthewiperbladedown
towardthewindshieldto
removeitfromthearm.

Attachthenewwipertothe
wiperarmandpressitinto
placeuntilaclickisheard.
Replacewiperbladesatleastonceperyearforoptimumperformance.
Poorwiperqualitycanbeimprovedbycleaningthewiperbladesandthe
windshield.RefertoWindowsandwiperbladesintheCleaning
chapter.
Toprolongthelifeofthewiperblades,itishighlyrecommendedto
scrapeofftheiceonthewindshieldbeforeturningonthewipers.The
layeroficehasmanysharpedgesandcandamagethemicroedgeofthe
wiperrubberelement.
ENGINE OIL
Checking the engine oil
Refertoscheduledmaintenancefortheappropriateintervalsfor
checkingtheengineoil.

Turntheengineoffandwait15minutesfortheoiltodrainintothe
oilpan.

Settheparkingbrakeandensurethegearshiftissecurelylatchedin
P(Park)(automatictransmission)or1(First)(manual
transmission).

Openthehood.Protectyourselffromengineheat.
Locateandcarefullyremovetheengineoilleveldipstick.
