WARNING:Iftheairbaghasdeployed,theairbagwillnot
functionagainandmustbereplacedimmediately.Iftheairbag
isnotreplaced,theunrepairedareawillincreasetheriskofinjuryina
collision.
Determining if the system is operational
TheSRSusesreadinesslightsintheinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthesystem.RefertotheAirbagreadiness
sectionintheInstrumentationchapter.Routinemaintenanceofthe
airbagisnotrequired.
Adifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:

Thereadinesslightswilleither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightswillnot
illuminateimmediatelyafter
ignitionisturnedon.

Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemand/orlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havetheSRSserviced
atyourauthorizedMazdadealershipimmediately.
WARNING:Unlessserviced,thesystemmaynotfunction
properlyintheeventofacollision.
Disposal of airbags and airbag equipped vehicles
(including seat belt pretensioners)
Fordisposalofseatbeltpretensioners,airbags,orairbagequipped
vehicles,seeyourauthorizedMazdadealershiporqualifiedtechnician.
