thepassenger sensingsystem.
Ifthevehiclehasthepassenger airbagstatusindicator
pictured inthefollowing illustration, thenthevehiclehas
apassenger sensingsystemfortherightfront
passenger position. Thepassenger airbagstatus
indicator,ifequipped, isvisibleontheoverhead console
whenthevehicleisstarted.
Thepassenger sensingsystemworkswithsensorsthat
arepartoftherightfrontpassenger seatandsafety
belt.Thesensorsaredesigned todetectthepresence
ofaproperly-seated occupant anddetermine iftheright
frontpassenger frontalairbagshouldbeenabled(may
inflate) ornot.
Inaddition, ifthevehiclehasapassenger sensing
systemfortherightfrontpassenger position, the
labelonthevehicle's sunvisorsrefersto
“
ADVANCEDAIRBAGS”.
According toaccident statistics, children aresaferwhen
properly securedinarearseatinthecorrectchild
restraint fortheirweightandsize.
Werecommend thatchildren besecuredinarearseat,
including: aninfantorachildridinginarear-facing child
restraint; achildridinginaforward-facing childseat;an
olderchildridinginaboosterseat;andchildren, who
arelargeenough,usingsafetybelts.
Alabelonthesunvisorsays,“Neverputarear-facing
childseatinthefront.”Thisisbecausetherisktothe
rear-facing childissogreat,iftheairbagdeploys.

willbevisibleduringthesystemcheck.Ifyouareusing
remotestart,ifequipped, tostartthevehiclefroma
distance, youmaynotseethesystemcheck.Whenthe
systemcheckiscomplete, eitherthewordONorOFF,
orthesymbolforonoroff,willbevisible. See
