InCanada,thelawrequires   thatforward-facing child
restraints haveatoptether,andthatthetetherbe
attached.
Whensecuring achildrestraint  inarearseating
position, studytheinstructions thatcamewiththechild
restraint tomakesureitiscompatible   withthisvehicle.
Ifthechildrestraint  doesnothavetheLATCHsystem,
youwillbeusingthesafetybelttosecurethechild
restraint inthisposition. Besuretofollowthe
instructions thatcamewiththechildrestraint.
Securethechildinthechildrestraint    whenand
astheinstructions  say.
Ifthechildrestraint  hastheLATCHsystem,seeLower
AnchorsandTethersforChildren   (LATCH) on
page 259 forhowandwheretoinstallthechild
restraint usingLATCH.Ifachildrestraint   issecuredin
thevehicleusingasafetybeltanditusesatoptether,
seeLowerAnchorsandTethersforChildren    (LATCH)
on page 259 fortoptetheranchorlocations.
Ifmorethanonechildrestraint   needstobeinstalled  in
therearseat,besuretoreadWheretoPutthe
Restraint onpage257.
Thevehicle's lapshoulder beltsforthefirstandsecond
rowseatingpositions  areequipped withfreefalling latch
plates.Ifthevehiclehasathirdrow,thelapshoulder
beltshaveeitherfreefalling  orcinchinglatchplates.
Donotsecureachildseatinaposition     withoutatop
tetheranchorifanational   orlocallawrequires  thatthe
toptetherbeanchored,  oriftheinstructions  thatcome
withthechildrestraint  saythatthetopstrapmust
beanchored.
