{WARNING:
Someonestanding toocloseduringtheprocedure
couldbeinjuredbythejack.Ifthesparetiredoes
notslideoffthejackcompletely,makesureno
oneisbehindyouoroneithersideofyouasyou
pullthejackoutfromunderthespare.

Disconnect thejackhandlefromthejackand
carefully removethejack.Useonehandtopush
againstthesparewhilefirmlypullingthejackout
fromunderthesparetirewiththeotherhand.
Ifthesparetireishangingfromthecable,insert
thehoistendofextension,   andwheelwrenchinto
thehoistshaftholeinthebumperandturnthe
wheelwrenchcounterclockwise  tolowerthespare
therestoftheway.

Position thecenterliftpointofthejackunderthe
centerofthesparetire.
Turnthewrenchclockwise  toraisethejackuntilit
liftstheendfitting.

Turnthewheelwrenchinthehoistshaftholeinthe
bumperclockwise toraisethecablebackupifthe
cableishangingunderthevehicle.
Continue raisingthejackuntilthesparetirestops
movingupwardandisheldfirmlyinplace.The
secondary latchhasreleased andthesparetireis
balancing onthejack.
Havethehoistassembly  inspected assoonasyoucan.
Youwillnotbeabletostoreaspareorflattireusingthe
hoistassembly untilithasbeeninspected   and/or
replaced.

Lowerthejackbyturning   thewheelwrench
counterclockwise. Keeplowering thejackuntilthe
sparetireslidesoffthejackorishangingbythe
cable.
Tocontinue changing theflattire,seeRemoving  the
FlatTireandInstalling  theSpareTireonpage786.
