thecorrectequipment isnotusedorthevehicleis
notdrivenproperly.Forexample, ifthetraileris
tooheavy,thebrakesmaynotworkwell—or

seriously injured. Thevehiclemayalsobe
damaged;theresulting repairswouldnotbe

Withthisfeature, improved vehiclerideandhandling is
provided underavarietyofpassenger andloading
conditions.
Thesystemisfullyautomatic andusesacomputer
controller tocontinuously monitorvehiclespeed,wheel
tobodyposition, lift/dive andsteering position ofthe
vehicle. Thecontroller thensendssignalstoeachshock
absorber toindependently adjustthedampinglevelto
providetheoptimumvehicleride.
Autoride alsointeracts withthetow/haul modethat,
whenactivated, willprovideadditional controlofthe
shockabsorbers. Thisadditional controlresultsinbetter
rideandhandling characteristics whenthevehicleis
loadedortowingatrailer.See“Tow/HaulMode”under
TowingaTraileron page 6‑42 formoreinformation.
