RKEtransmitter functions willhaveanincreased range
ofoperation. However,therangemaybelesswhilethe
vehicleisrunning.
3. Ifitisthefirstremotestartsincethevehiclehas
beendriven,repeatthesesteps,whiletheengine
isstillrunning, toextendtheenginerunningtime
by10minutes.Remotestartcanbeextended
onetime.

performance ofthetransmitter,seeRemoteKeyless
Entry(RKE)System on page 3‑4 foradditional
information.
Afterentering thevehicleduringaremotestart,insert
andturnthekeytoON/RUNtodrivethevehicle.
Tomanually shutoffaremotestart,doanyofthe
following:

RKEtransmitter ifyouhaveremotestart.

AimtheRKEtransmitter atthevehicleandpress
theremotestartbuttonuntiltheparkinglamps
turnoff.
Tostartthevehicleusingtheremotestartfeature:

Aimthetransmitter atthevehicle.

Turnonthehazardwarningflashers.
Turntheignition switchonandthenoff.
Pressandreleasethetransmitter's lockbutton.
Thevehicle's doorswilllock.Immediately press
andholdthetransmitter's remotestartbuttonuntil
theturnsignallightsflash.Ifyoucannotseethe
vehicle's lights,pressandholdtheremotestart
buttonfortwotofourseconds.Pressing theremote
startbuttonagainafterthevehiclehasstartedwill
turntheengineoff.
Thevehiclecanberemotestartedtwoseparate times
betweendrivingsequences. Theenginewillrunfor
10
minutesaftereachremotestart.
Or,youcanextendtheengineruntimebyanother
minuteswithinthefirst10minuteremotestarttime
frame,andbeforetheenginestops.

Whenthevehiclestarts,theparkinglampswillturn
onandremainonwhilethevehicleisrunning.
Ifthevehicleisleftrunningitwillautomatically shut
offafter10minutesunlessatimeextension has
beendone.
