whilestopped. Ifitissafetodoso,pulloffthe
road,shifttoP(Park)orN(Neutral)    andletthe
engineidle.
TheENGINEOVERHEATEDSTOPENGINEorthe
ENGINEOVERHEATEDIDLEENGINEmessage,along
withalowcoolantcondition,   canindicate aserious
problem.
Ifthetemperature  overheat gageisnolongerinthe
overheat zoneoranoverheat  warningnolonger
displays, thevehiclecanbedriven.Continue   todrive
thevehicleslowforabout10minutes.Keepasafe
vehicledistance fromthecarinfrontofyou.Ifthe
warningdoesnotcomebackon,continue    todrive
normally.
Ifyougetanengineoverheatwarning,    butseeorhear
nosteam,theproblemmaynotbetooserious.
Sometimes theenginecangetalittletoohotwhenyou:

Climbalonghillonahotday.
Ifthewarningcontinues,  pullover,stop,andparkthe
vehiclerightaway.
Stopafterhigh-speed  driving.
Idleforlongperiodsintraffic.
Ifthereisnosignofsteam,idletheenginefor
fiveminuteswhileparked.Ifthewarningisstill
displayed, turnofftheengineuntilitcoolsdown.Also,

laterinthissection.
