can drop so low that the fuel may not burn completely.
Incom plete combustion allow s carbon and varnish to
form on piston rings and injector nozzles. Also, the
unbu rned fuel can enter the crankcase, diluting the oil
and causing rap id wear to the engine.

Tip Start Feature
Do not press the accelerator. Use the Fob with Integrated
Key to briefly turn the ignition switch to the START
position and then release it. The starter motor will
continu e to run, and it will autom atically disengage
when the engine is running.
Engin e Warm -Up
Avoid full throttle operation when the engine is cold.
When starting a cold engine, bring the engine up to
operating speed slow ly to allow the oil pressu re to
stabilize as the engine warm s up.
NOTE: The starter motor may run up to 30 second s in
very cold cond itions until the engine is started . The
starter can be disengaged by turning the ignition key to
the OFF position, if requ ired .
NOTE: High-sp eed , no-load running of a cold engine
can resu lt in excessive white smoke and poor engine
perform ance. No-load engine speed s shou ld be kep t
und er 1,200 rpm during the warm -up period , especially
in cold ambient tem peratu re cond itions.

After the engine starts, allow it to idle for approxi-
mately 30 second s before driving. This allow s oil to
circulate and lubricate the turbocharger.
Avoid prolonged idling in ambient tem peratu res below
0°F
(-18°C). Long period s of idling may be harm ful to
