vehicleahead.Adaptive  CruiseControlmaynot
havetimetoslowyourvehicleenoughtoavoida
collision. DonotuseAdaptive  CruiseControl
whentheradarisblockedbysnow,ice,ordirt.
Keepyourradarclean.See“Cleaning   the
System”laterinthissection.
ThevehicleaheadsymbolonlyappearsontheHUD
whenavehicleaheadisdetected   inyourpath.
Ifthissymboldoesnotappear,ordisappears    briefly,
Adaptive CruiseControlwillnotrespondtovehicles   you
mayseeahead.
Adaptive CruiseControlautomatically slowsyour
vehicledownwhenapproaching  aslowermoving
vehicle. Itthenadjustsyourspeedtofollowthevehicle
infrontattheselected   following distance. Yourspeed
increases ordecreases tofollowthevehicleinfrontof
youbutwillnotexceedthesetspeed.Itmayapply
limitedbraking, ifnecessary.Whenbrakingisactive,
yourbrakelightscomeon.Itmayfeelorsounddifferent
thanifyouwereapplying   thebrakesyourself. Thisis
normal.
