4. Thetwosidesoftheairboxarehingedatthe

bottom.Opentheairboxbypushingthetopofthe

airboxcovertowardtheengine.

Toinspecttheaircleaner/filter removethefilterfromthe

vehicleandlightlyshakethefiltertoreleaseloosedust

anddirt.Ifthefilterremainscakedwithdirt,anewfilter

isrequired.

Removetheairfilterbylifting itstraight upthrough

theopeningintheairbox.

Inspectorreplacetheengineaircleaner/filter. See

Maintenance Replacement Parts on page 7‑11for

thecorrectpartnumberforthefilter.

Toinspectorreplacethefilterinthe3.6LV6or

4.6L

V8engines, dothefollowing:

Reinstall thecoverbyreversing Steps1through4.

Removethetwoscrewslocatedonthetopofthe

cover.

Disconnect thecoolantrecovery hosesothatit

isnotgoingacrossthetopoftheengineair

cleaner/filter.

Loosentheclampandremovetheductfromthe

passenger's sideoftheengineaircleaner/filter.
