negative terminal ofthegoodbattery.Usea
remotenegative(−)terminal  ifthevehiclehasone.
Donotlettheotherendtouchanything    untilthe
nextstep.Theotherendofthenegative(− )cable
doesnotgotothedeadbattery.Itgoestoaheavy,
unpainted metalenginepartortoaremote
negative(−)terminal onthevehiclewiththe
deadbattery.

Connecttheotherendofthenegative(− )cable
atleast18inches(45cm)awayfromthedead
battery,butnotnearenginepartsthatmove.
Theelectrical connection isjustasgoodthere,
andthechanceofsparksgettingbacktothe
batteryismuchless.
Usearemotenegative(−)terminal   ifthevehicle
hasone.Yourvehicle's  remotenegative(− )ground
location isforthispurpose.

Connecttheredpositive(+)cabletothe
positive(+)terminal ofthedeadbattery.Usea
remotepositive(+)terminal  ifthevehiclehasone.

Nowstartthevehiclewiththegoodbatteryandrun
theengineforawhile.
Donotlettheotherendtouchmetal.Connectitto
thepositive(+)terminal  ofthegoodbattery.Usea
remotepositive(+)terminal  ifthevehiclehasone.
11. Trytostartthevehiclethathadthedeadbattery.
Ifitwillnotstartafterafewtries,itprobably      needs
service.
