ShoulderBeltHeightAdjuster
SafetyBeltPretensioners
Yourvehiclehasashoulder   beltheightadjuster forthe
driverandrightfrontpassenger   position.
Yourvehiclehassafetybeltpretensioners   forfront
outboard occupants. Although youcannotseethem,
theyarepartofthesafetybeltassembly.Theycanhelp
tightenthesafetybeltsduringtheearlystagesofa
moderate toseverefrontalandnearfrontalcrashifthe
threshold conditions forpretensioner activation aremet.
And,ifyourvehiclehassideimpactairbags,    safetybelt
pretensioners canhelptightenthesafetybeltsinaside
crash.
Adjusttheheightsothattheshoulder    portion ofthebelt
iscentered onyourshoulder.Thebeltshouldbeaway
fromyourfaceandneck,butnotfallingoffyour
shoulder.Improper shoulder beltheightadjustment
couldreducetheeffectiveness  ofthesafetybeltina
crash.
Tomoveitdown,press
thereleasebutton(A)and
movetheheightadjuster
tothedesiredposition.
Youcanmovetheheight
adjuster upjustby
Pretensioners workonlyonce.Iftheyactivate   ina
crash,youwillneedtogetnewones,andprobably
othernewpartsforyoursafetybeltsystem.See

Thisvehiclemayhaverearshoulder   beltcomfort
guides.Ifnot,theyareavailable   throughyourdealer/
retailer.Theguidesmayprovideaddedsafetybelt
comfortforolderchildren  whohaveoutgrown  booster
seatsandforsomeadults.Wheninstalled    andproperly
adjusted, thecomfortguidepositions  thebeltawayfrom
theneckandhead.
Afteryoumovetheheightadjuster   towhereyouwantit,
trytomoveitdownwithoutpressing    thereleasebutton
tomakesureithaslockedintoposition.
