Iftheairbagisoff,theoffindicator    inthepassenger
airbagstatusindicator  willcomeonandstayonwhen
thevehicleisstarted.
Ifachildrestraint  hasbeeninstalled  andtheon
indicator islit,see“IftheOnIndicator   isLitforaChild
Restraint”underPassenger  SensingSystem on
page 2‑61 formoreinformation.
Toremovethechildrestraint,   unbuckle thevehicle
safetybeltandletitreturntothestowedposition.

Totightenthebelt,pushdownonthechild
restraint, pulltheshoulder portionofthebeltto
tightenthelapportionofthebeltandfeedthe
shoulder beltbackintotheretractor.When
installing aforward-facing childrestraint, itmay
behelpfultouseyourkneetopushdownonthe
childrestraint asyoutightenthebelt.
Pushandpullthechildrestraint   indifferent
directions tobesureitissecure.
